Men DO have opinions about women's fashions...and it may not be what you think.

Face it girls. Many times we put tremendous effort into the outfits that grace our bodies in the hopes that our guys will find us that much more attractive...but then their reactions make us feel like they wouldn't even notice if we were strutting our stuff down a Dolce & Gabbana runway.

But there are some men who have their two cents to put in when it comes to women's fashion. So when Glamour magazine asked 300 men if your 2012 trends turn him off, turn him on, or confused him, they definitely got an earful.

Here's the important question: If you sport the current trends on the list below, should you change it? Answer: Maybe. It depends on what and who you are dressing for. If you are dressing just for yourself and your own satisfaction and these trends help you feel hot, fierce, and confident, then have at it! Who knows, your confidence alone could be all that is needed to attract your guy.

But if your goal is to entice your guy with some sweet or sexy fashion, I'll be honest, a lot of men do not know a lot about women's fashion. With that being said, it is worth considering why these trends ended up on the list. For the most part, men don't always like what's hot now - many generally prefer what flatters your body shape the most. So, if you've been wearing the overalls and wide fedoras to grab his attention, you might want to reconsider and rock a pair of jeans sans hat instead.

Summer lovin, had me some fu-un
Summer lovin, dressed for the su-un,
Saw a dress, cute as can bee-ee!
Bought some sandals, they’re just sex-xy-eee…

Okay, so maybe they’re not the exact lyrics from the movie. Close enough. Picky aren’t you?

Spring is here and summer is not far behind! How do you prepare for spring and summer? Exercise? Starvation…er, I mean diet? Tanning salon? Shopping….?

Personally, I prefer the latter – summer style! Spring and summer fashions are always indicative of the excitement that’s ahead for our lives at the beginning of the year. Everything is fresh, new, colorful, exuberant, bright! Warmer month fashions are one of the main reasons to celebrate the end of the lackluster winter months and the start of something refreshing!

Light and airy sundresses. Sexy and revealing sandals. Gorgeous goddess maxi dresses. Cute shorts. Rockin rompers (all the rage this summer). Sassy skirts. Bare shoulders, arms, and legs shown off and complimented with these fun and exuberant fashions! Summer dressing is nothing short of brilliant! Don’t dread the summer months, marvel in them. Any body type can look dazzling in the right summer clothes.

Fluid fabrics and styles allow for more flow and freedom with your movements (comfort is necessary, especially in the warmer seasons) and many summer dresses, tops, and bottoms are flattering while also being forgiving on most body shapes. What’s casual to you? Sweats? Jeans? A funky dress? Dressy pants? A short skirt? Sexy boots? Converses? Answer: any of it.

Casual dressing, for many, suggests unfussy or careless throwing together of things. What that can result in, sometimes, is a walking fashion disaster if you are actually being “careless.” If you’re making this blunder of looking like a frumpster and calling it casual, stop. It’s time to re-define your style definition of “casual.” Casual dressing implies free and easy; not showing effort or strain. Casual dressing is NOT haphazard dressing.

What we actually all want, in the name of “casual,” is effortless style. We all want it. We all can have it. There is a feasible way to put together an outfit by just grabbing any old thing in your closet and having it look marvelous. Every item in your closet must fit and flatter you.

Effortless style requires some effort, of course. The effort lies in understanding how clothing can look amazing on you (anything from sweat pants and sneaks to a cocktail dress and heels). Yes, even your sweats, jeans, and workout shorts can flatter you and look great. The trick? Fit. Make sure every item of clothing you wear fits your body well.

Effortless manner (the ease and comfort with which you wear your clothes) also comes into play with casual style. Do not mistake comfort and ease with frumpy, loose, and ill-fitting. Too many people err in that direction in fear of looking like they’ve “tried too hard. Be comfortable…in clothes that fit.

Nowadays, the popular trend of the slouchy style shirt helps polish the informal look. Gorgeous designs in light, beautiful fabrics cascade down the body. They are fantastic “sophisticated casual” pieces because the shapes and fabrics are striking and flattering for many body types while the flowing design evokes a sense of freedom and laid backness. Casual. Effortless beauty. It’s a wonderful thing. Just make sure your slouchy style shirt actually fits you and follows the contour lines of your body and isn’t just….well, sloppy. These pieces are versatile because they can be easily dressed up as well.

So whether your idea of casual is “sophisticated,” “pretty,” “grungy,” “punk rock,” “sexy,”….the sky’s the limit with your casual attire expressions. Casual is what’s casual to YOU. What you feel free and effortless in. I’m sure you’ve noticed the theme of this article on what makes casual successfully stylish = Fit. Make sure you dump the frump, and ensure that everything fits you well.
